I only know my recipe by cup measures. If someone will post UK measures compared to cups, I'll convert my recipe and edit my answer. Thanks for anyone's help.
Just read your note that US measurements would be okay. This is a short recipe so if you can convert, it should not take you too long. The recipe is for beer bread and here it is:
3 cups of self rising flour
3 tablespoons of sugar
12-ounce can or bottle of beer, at room temperature
Mix the above 3 ingredients together. The beer will foam when added, so stir carefully. After you have mixed every thing together, put it in an ungreased loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees (Farenheit) for 1 hour.
This is really a good bread - nice crispy crust, and it does not taste like beer if you are worried about that. Plus, it is easy to always have the ingredients on hand. Hope you don't have too much trouble with the conversions.Does anyone have a quick bread recipe for bread using self raising flour?
Unless you're trying to make a biscuit kind of bread (I think you call them crumpets), then you need yeast to make most dinner breads. That involves allowing the yeast to rise a couple of hours during the process. No quick way to do that.
