My oven just went out and we are big bread eaters... Any ideasI need recipes for any kind of bread or rolls that can be made in the crock pot or electric skillet?
I got this from the food network. It sounds awesome!

8 servings Ingredients

2 cups yellow corn meal

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

3 tablespoons sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

4 eggs

1 1/4 cups buttermilk

Mix all dry ingredients together. Stir eggs into buttermilk and add to dry mixture. Melt butter inside heavy iron skillet. Coat skillet with butter on all sides. Pour remaining butter from skillet into cornbread batter and mix thoroughly. Pour the cornbread batter into hot skillet and bake in a 375 degree oven. Cook bread until it has a golden brown crust (approximately 25-30 minutes).I need recipes for any kind of bread or rolls that can be made in the crock pot or electric skillet?
Buy the rolls that come in a tube that you peel off a little of the wrapper and then hit the tube on the counter and it opens (sort of explodes) -- I am trying not to use brand-names here.

Anyhow, put a generous coating of butter in your electric skillet, add garlic powder or other spice of your choice, or you can add no spice and just have the butter flavor. Place the rolls in the pan, cook for about 10 minutes (until nice and brown) and turn them over and cook the other side. These are delicious. Crispy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. We always make these to serve with Italian food. I cook them at about 300 degrees, but turn that down if they start to brown to quickly, before the inside gets cooked.
INDIAN BREAD

1 c. flour

2 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. salt

3/4 c. milk

Hot oil in a skillet

Mix ingredients together. Add flour if necessary to make a stiff dough. Roll out on a floured board until it is very thin. Cut into strips about 2 or 3 inches long and 1 inch wide. Drop into hot oil. Brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels. Serve with butter or sprinkle with sugar. Makes 10 servings.
Here's a link to an English muffin recipe with pictures of them being made.

You can also do the pita on a griddle. Just use a bit of butter or oil on the griddle and they'll be fine.
A quick substitute is what my husband calls fry bread. Mix a batter with milk and self rising flour and cook like pancakes. You can make it slightly thicker than pancake batter and without the eggs it's different than a pancake. This is good to make if you go camping too.
